Past Events 2008
Cimarron Festival was launched in February 2008, as a response to the celebrations of the bicentenary of the abolition of slavery in the UK. Our event addressed this hsitorical occasion from a cultural perspective, by presenting a programme of lectures, percussion and dance workshops, photographic exhibitons, documentaries and a music and dance showcase that celebrated the Afican cultural legacy in Latin America.
